Chandrashekhar Jayaram Thakare: Echoes That Awoke the Cursed One

“Echoes That Awoke the Cursed One” depicts a man who once sought power through a forbidden ritual. The ritual he forced upon the night answered him; not with a blessing, but with a curse that shattered his humanity and dragged him into the depths below as suffering itself.

Years later, on the darkest night of the year, a lone Sadhu begins invoking the same black magic that once doomed him. The echoes of that ritual travel downward, cutting through the silence of the underworld.

The Cursed One rises with the fury of a soul forever undone by the same ritual now being repeated above. The echoes that reach him are the very scars that shaped him, and they ignite the rage he has carried through the depths.

He breaks through the surface as a warning carved in terror, a living consequence, risen to silence the forbidden chant before it claims another life.

This artwork captures the moment he emerges; driven by anger and the unbearable memory of how the darkness claimed him.
